Familiar faces to the Eurovision bubble Jasmin and RoxorLoops were on screens again Friday night on X Factor Denmark. They took part in the preliminary auditions stage of the show and sang a medley of ‘Stand By Me’, ‘Beautiful Girls’, and ‘Just The Way You Are’. Judges Thomas Blachman, Kwamie Liv and Martin Jensen were very impressed and all three gave them a “Yes” to continue on!
Jasmin and RoxorLoops took part in the 50th anniversary edition of Danish national final Dansk Melodi Grand Prix in 2020. Despite being favourites to challenge for the win and delivering a very memorable performance of their song “Human”, the pair were eliminated in the first round of the final, coming in 8th place. Their performance in DMGP is below, and you may notice the lack of fans – this show was one of the first events to have no audience at the very beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Going back even further, Senjka Danhieux – aka Belgian beatboxer and vocal artist RoxorLoops – has already stepped on the Eurovision stage. He participated in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2011 as part of the vocal group Witloof Bay. See if you can spot him in their performance! The group just missed out on a spot for Belgium in the Grand Final, coming 11th in the second Semi Final in Düsseldorf.
More recently, the pair have continued to release music together. Their brand new single, “Someday”, is similar to their entry “Human” from DMGP 2020 as it combines RoxorLopps’ beatbox skills with amazing vocals from Jasmin. Have a listen below.
