Luna Ki withdraws from Benidorm Fest!

The Spanish national selection, Benidorm Fest, is set to start this Tuesday, where a total of 14 acts were supposed to compete to represent Spain in Eurovision 2022. This morning the Spanish national broadcaster RTVE confirmed that one of the acts has now withdrawn – Luna Ki.

Luna Ki was set to open this year’s Benidorm Fest, as was drawn to perform first, in the first semi final. They have decided to withdraw from thte competition due to the fact that they were unable to use autotune in the live performance. RTVE is following the Eurovision rules regarding live vocals, as autotune is not allowed to be used at Eurovision either (Netta had a similar request with autotune in 2018 but the request was not approved).

This leaves now 13 acts left in competing to represent Spain – six of them will compete in Semi Final 1, and seven in Semi Final 2. The best four from each semi will qualify for the Grand Final.
