Meet the members of the Benidorm Fest Professional Jury!

We’re just few days away from meeting the representative of Spain at 2022 Eurovision Song Contest, which will take place this May in Turin. This year, Spain will select its candidate through the Benidorm Fest, among the 14 participating candidates. The decision will be made through a mixed system of 50% between the votes of the public (25% televoting and 25% demographic jury) and 50% professional jury (three Spanish experts and two international ones). And here we are to reveal the professional jury, which will help selecting this years artist.

The members of the national jury will be: singer Natalia Calderón, the choreographer Miryam Benedicted and the coordinator of the RTVE Orchestra and Choir, Estefanía García, while the international part of experts will be made up of set designer Marvin Dietmann and Icelandic head of delegation at Eurovision, Félix Bergsson.

Each of the members of the professional jury will vote with 12, 10, 8, 7, 6, 5 and 4 points in the semi-finals and 12, 10, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 2 in the final evening. If several artists are tied in this phase, it will be resolved later by adding the votes of the public.

The other 50% will be in the hands of the public. 25% of the votes will come from the demoscopic public. The company IPSOS has been in charge of managing a sample made up of 350 people representing the Spanish population. The votes of the 350 respondents will result in a ranking of the participants by number of votes. The positions of this ranking will become the points (30, 25, 20, 18, 15, 12 and 10 in the case of the semi-finals, and 30, 25, 20, 18, 15, 12, 10 and 5 in the case of the Grand Final).

The last 25% will come from the participants of the Benidorm Fest. Through phone calls and SMS, a ranking of the participants will be drawn up by number of votes received. The positions of this ranking will become the points (30, 25, 20, 18, 15, 12 and 10 in the case of the Semifinals, and 30, 25, 20, 18, 15, 12, 10 and 5 in the case of the Grand Final).
