MGP host, Annika Momrak tested positive for Covid-19!

The second semi-final of the Norwegian selection, Melodi Grand Prix is taking place this Saturday, 22nd of January and ahead of it one of the three hosts, Annika Momrak got tested positive for Covid-19.

As NRK reports the show will be hosted by two other hosts Mikkel Niva and Kåre Magnus Bergh and they won’t be introducing the third host. Regarding the situation Annika said:

Fortunately, there will be a real show with Mikkel and Kåre Magnus on Saturday, and I’m really looking forward to physically joining the party again as soon as I’m healthy – because the party lasts several more weeks. The vaccines seem to have done an excellent job of equipping my immune system for just this, it is almost touching to think about. My thoughts now go to all those who sit in isolation and for various reasons do not cope so well with being alone. They deserve a big hug and I wish I could give them one!

This isn’t the first time MGP faces the host change ahead of one of the semi-finals as last year ahead of the fifth semi-final Ingrid Gjessing Linhave stepped out and Silje Nordnes jumped in to host instead of her. We wish a speedy recovery to Annika Momrak and hope to see her back as MGP host very soon. You can check the acts performing in the second semi-final of Melodi Grand Prix below.
