Sanremo’s 24 Artists Split Over Two Nights

On tonight’s TG1 Italian news, Amadeus announced the running order for the first two nights of the Festival di Sanremo. Usually, the Festival splits the new songs over the first two nights, and fills the extra time with small interval acts and guest stars. For instance, last year’s winners Måneskin are due to appear on the first evening, and Laura Pausini on the second evening, when it is expected she will be officially announced as one of the hosts of Eurovision 2022.

While the exact running order is yet to be decided, on Tuesday 1st February, opening night will see:

  • Achille Lauro (feat. Harlem Gospel Choir) – Domenica
  • Ana Mena – Duecentomila ore
  • Dargen D’Amico – Dove si balla
  • Gianni Morandi – Apri tutte le porte
  • Giusy Ferreri – Miele
  • La Rappresentante di Lista – Ciao ciao
  • Mahmood e Blanco – Brividi
  • Massimo Ranieri – Lettera di là dal mare
  • Michele Bravi – Inverno dei fiori
  • Noemi – Ti amo non lo so dire
  • Rkomi – Insuperabile
  • Yuman – Ora e qui

Then on the second evening, Wednesday 2nd February the following artists will take the stage at the Ariston:

  • AKA 7even – Perfetta così
  • Ditonellapiaga con Rettore – Chimica
  • Elisa – O forse sei tu
  • Emma – Ogni volta è così
  • Fabrizio Moro – Sei tu
  • Giovanni Truppi – Tuo padre, mia madre, Lucia
  • Highsnob e Hu – Abbi cura di te
  • Irama – Ovunque sarai
  • Iva Zanicchi – Voglio amarti
  • Le Vibrazioni – Tantissimo
  • Matteo Romano – Virale
  • Sangiovanni – Farfalle
  • Tananai – Sesso occasionale

Somewhat annoyingly, the precise running order will not be known to the public until the day of each show. Last year, deputy director of RAI1 Claudio Fasulo certified each show’s running order the morning of each show, and then giving it to the press later in the day.

Running for five nights to start February 2022, the Sanremo Festival will start at 20:45 CET each evening. It will be hosted by its artistic director Amadeus for the third year in a row, and he will again be joined on stage by his sidekick Fiorello.
