The German National Final “Germany 12 Points” is going to take place on the 4th of March and the preparations in Berlin are in full swing.
Eurovision Song Contest Deutschland now uploaded a video on YouTube, that allows us to take a look behind the scenes and around all the preparations.
Alina Stiegler, who was rumored to be the host of the German national final for the Eurovision Song Contest 2022, is taking us backstage in this clip.
Alina tells us that the musicians who applied to represent Germany at the Eurovision Song Contest, will perform in front of a jury in the hall where she is right now. This jury will then select the entries that are going to compete at the live final “Germany 12 Points”.
Both the contestants, as well as the jury members, will remain a secret for now.
Alexandra Wolfslast, the German head of delegation, explains that they will keep the competing artists anonymous for now, to protect those who will not advance to the live final. The jury members are kept secret for now, in order to avoid any influences.
She further expressed her great enthusiasm for the participants and explained that she was impressed by the musical diversity.
There are very young artists with us and there are older ones, which is great. There are really modern but also some traditional sounds. I am absolutely thrilled!
She also said that it was important to them that the artists are authentic with their music and that they can see a sincere motivation to compete at the Eurovision Song Contest.

The exact amount of participants for the live final is still unclear, but there are most likely going to be between three and seven different acts. The final will be held on the 4th of March 2022, live from Berlin, at 20:15 CET. We will of course live blog the final here on ESCBubble!
