Zdob si Zdub will represent Moldova at Eurovision 2022!
On Monday, Moldova has revealed the acts in the running to represent the country at Eurovision 2022. The broadcaster revealed they received 51 submission and out of those they selected 30 songs (one author sent two songs) and on Tuesday it has been revealed that Misscatylove withdrew from the selection and now the total of 28 acts were still in the running. The next and final stage involved the live auditions which took place today and were broadcast live on Moldova 2 and online, they lasted for 3 hours in the time frame from 13.00 to 16.00 CET and brought us performances of 28 acts out of which one was decided by the judges to be the entry to represent Moldova at Eurovision 2022. The results were revealed during the news of Moldova 1 around 18.00 CET

- Sasha Bognibov – “(I Just Had) Sex with Your Ex”
- Annet Smirnova – “Toxic Eyes”
- Ricky Ardezianu – “Cherchez la femme”
- Tudor Bumbac – “Iarta-ma ca te iubesc”
- LEMONIQUE – “Boys”
- Carolina Gorun & Danieli Shvets – “Take Me Anywhere”
- Mihaela Andrei – “Libre”
- Maxim Zavidia – “Ready”
- Emilia Russu– “Yama”
- Lanjeron – “Magic Carpet”
- Pelageya Stefoglo – “I’m the only one”
- Sendrei – “Beginer’s Luck”
- Viola Julea – “Before”
- Angel Kiss – “The Sunshine in Me”
- Valeria Barbas – “My Tree”
- Diana Elmas – “Spirit High”
- Ana Cernicova – “Silent Battlefield”

Even though Sasha Bognibov had two songs, he decided he will perform only one. It is interesting to note that there was also a song in Sanskrit – “Yama” by Emilia Russu. There were a lot of familiar artists and returnees among the competitors including the representatives of Moldova at Eurovision 2005 and 2011 as well as 2022, Zdob Si Zdub; Denis Midone represented Moldova at Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2012 and some of the names which previously competed at the Moldovan national selections include: Maxim Zavidia, Pelageya Stefoglo, Dianna Rotaru, LEMONIQUE, Diana Elmas, Bumbac Tudor…
