Austrian entry will be revealed tomorrow morning!

The Austrian broadcaster ORF announced that their entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Turin will be revealed tomorrow morning, during the radio show Ö3 Wecker.

Many Austrian entries have previously been revealed through this way but this time it’s even more special than usual, because both the song and the performer are yet to be revealed. As we have previously reported, LUM!X and Anger were the big favorites to represent Austria at the Eurovision Song Contest this year.

The decision does come a bit later than usual. Vincent Bueno who was Austria’s last internal selection, was announced in December of 2019, well in advance of the planned May 2020 Eurovision in Rotterdam.

Austria has participated at Eurovision 53 times since its debut in 1957. They’ve won the competion twice. In 1966 Udo Jürgens won the Grand Prix with Merci Chérie and in 2014 it was Conchita Wurst who was victorious with Rise Like a Phoenix. Austria has also been at the bottom of the scoreboard on eight occasions, four of those times (1962, 1988, 1991 and 2015) with nul points.

Do you think Anger or LUM!X have what it takes to bring Austria back to the Grand Final in Turin this May? Let us know your thoughts!
