Disko by LPS will remain in Slovenian!

Last Saturday band LPS (Last Pizza Slice) won EMA 2022 with “Disko” and will wave the flag of Slovenia at Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Turin. You can check our interview with them HERE. Two days ago the Slovenian broadcaster RTVSLO has revealed the detailed voting of the semi-finals and the final evening as well as the voting results during EMA Freš 2022 – you can check those HERE. The most recent news revealed by RTVSLO are the viewing rates and the decision of LPS to keep their Eurovision entry “Disko” in Slovenian language.

LPS won their ticket for EMA 2022 after taking part at EMA Freš 2022 – it was the second time that this stage of the contest takes place and it’s the first time that a contestant which advanced from it to the final of EMA won the whole show and will be representing the country at Eurovision Song Contest. LPS performed the song Disko which was written by all five band members in August at one of their rehearsals in Celje gymnasium.

The song was based on the real events, and it’s definitely no longer a girl from any of us. Music is a way of life for us, and performing at Eurovision means a lot. We had enough rehearsals at EMA to feel great on stage. We will adapt to the bigger stage and, above all, enjoy it to the maximum.

In addition to this RTVSLO revealed that total of 234800 viewers on average tuned in to the final of EMA 2022 and the show receiving a 27% audience share which is the same audience share from EMA 2020 (last year EMA wasn’t held in it’s traditional form as the selection was internal). But even though the audience share had the same percentage the number of viewers decreased by 23000.

LPS will perform their song “Disko” in the first half of the first semi-final scheduled for 10th of May. You can watch their performance below
