Listen to the 6 acts competing to represent Germany at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022!

For a long time, it’s been unknown when, where and it which form the German preselection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 would take place. We already know that the National Final is called Germany 12 points, and that it will take place in Berlin on Friday, the 4th of March! Today, the German broadcaster NDR revealed the 6 participants during their press conference with the German head of delegation Alexandra Wolfslast and the NDR team!

Out of more than 900 applicants, these are the 6 selected songs competing at “Germany 12 points”:

  • Emily Roberts – “Soap
  • Eros Atomus – “Alive
  • Felicia Lu – “Anxiety
  • Maël & Jonas -“I Swear To God”
  • Malik Harris – “Rockstars
  • Nico Suave & Team Liebe – “Hallo Welt

Emily Roberts is a 28 year old singer-songwriter from Hamburg, who is half German and half British. She has released several singles and EPs already and in 2019, her cover of “Bitter Sweet Symphony” witht he DJ duo Gamper & Dadoni has reached gold status in the German and Austrian charts. She will compete in the German National Final with the song “Soap“:

Eros Atomus is best known for his participation in The Voice Of Germany in 2018. In the blind auditions he performed “Bette Davis Eyes” and the video counts more than 4 million views on YouTube. He ended up fourth overall in the show. The official music video to his single “Colourblind” came out in October 2021. At “Germany 12 points” he will compete with the song “Alive“:

Felicia Lu was first introduced to a wider audience through her participation in the German version of ‘Rising Star’ where she made it to the final. Since then, her YouTube channel kept growing and gaining popularity, with almost 40.000 subscribers. In 2017, Felicia has been in the selection to represent Germany in Eurovision and she ended up in 4th place of “Unser Song für Kiew”. This year she’s back in the race to represent Germany with the song “Anxiety“:

Maël & Jonas are a duo that participated in the 1oth season of The Voice of Germany, where they reached the final and finished in third place. There they released the song “Treat You Right” together with the famous German singer Nico Santos, who was their coach during The Voice. Their entry for “Germany 12 points” is called “I swear to god” and sounds like this:

Nico Suave is a rapper who has been active in the German music scene since 1998. His first album “Suave” was released in 2001 and stayed in the German album charts for five weeks. In 2007 he released the album “Suave & Friends”, where he worked with several well known German musicians and his song “Kool” even reached top 5 in the German single charts. Together with Team Liebe, who are all Nico’s personal friends, he will try to go to Turin with the song “Hallo Welt“, which is the only German song in the selection:

Malik Harris is a German-American songwrtiter, singer and rapper who has released his first album “Anonymous Colonist” in 2021. He comes from a very musical family and his father, Ricky Harris, is a well known talkshow master in Germany. With the song “Rockstars“, Malik is hoping to become Germany’s representative in the Eurovision Song Contest 2022:
