New interval acts for Festival da Canção 2022 confirmed!

The Portuguese selection for Eurovision Song Contest 2022, Festival da Canção is set to take place on 5th, 7th and 12th of March. All of the competing acts have been revealed on 21st of January while the running order was announced two weeks ago. The Black Mamba have been announced as the ones who will be performing in the first semi-final while Chanel will be performing the second semi-final of Festival da Canção scheduled for 7th of March. Now it’s time to reveal new set of guest performers at the show.

Those include Expensive Soul, Rui José Pregal da Cunha, The Legendary Tigerman and Bateu Matou. Expensive Soul are a Portuguese hip-hop duo formed in Leça da Palmeira back in 1999. Their musical style incorporates various genres which range from soul and reggae to R&B. They will be performing in the first semi-final scheduled for 5th of March.

Rui José Pregal da Cunha is a Portuguese musician and singer, founder and vocalist of the band Heróis do Mar. He also took part at Festival da Canção as the author as he was the one behind Agora by JJaZZ. They ended the show on 6th place in the first semi-final. Rui will perform in the evening of 5th of March.


The Legendary Tigerman is the stage name of a Portuguese singer-songwriter Paulo Furtado. His musical career started in the late 1980’s when he joined the psychobilly band Tédio Boys and in 2002 he went on as a soloist as The Legendary Tigerman. He will be performing in the second semi-final scheduled for 7th of March.

Bateu Matou is a project that brings together three of the most talented drummers of Portuguese urban music: Quim Albergaria (PAUS), RIOT (Buraka Som Sistema) and Ivo Costa (Carminho, Sara Tavares). They will be performing in the final on 12th of March 2022.
