The opening ceremony of the Eurovision Song Contest 2022, (better known as the Orange carpet from Tel Aviv 2019 or Turquoise Carpet from Rotterdam last year) is set to take place on Sunday 8th of May at The Royal Palace of Venaria (Reggia di Venaria Reale).

During TGR Piemonte which was broadcast on Saturday 12th of February, Guido Curto, the director of the Consorzio Residenze Reali Sabaude confirmed the information. The further details of it haven’t been revealed.

And then on May 8 we will also have Eurovision, but this is a secret. The red carpet.

The Royal Palace of Venaria is around 25 kilometres away from the Pala Olimpico and the center of Turin. It is good to note that it’s one of the Savoy residences and part of the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1997. Total of 1.048.834 visitors were registered back in 2018 which makes it the 7th most visited Italian state museum site. In 2019, it got awarded with the title of the most beautiful public park in Italy and each summer it’s used as the location for various concerts.

Eurovision Song Contest 2022 is set to take place on 10th, 12th and 14th of May 2022. The allocation draw brought us the line-up of each semi-final which you can check HERE. A week ago the recording of this years postcards started and with all the national selections we’re slowly getting closer to the day of the opening ceremony.
