S4C rules out their participation at Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2022!

Welsh broadcaster S4C have ruled out the return of Wales to this year’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest. This will be the third time in a row the country won’t take part at the show. This year we may be witnessing a return of the UK to the show, so it all seems to be aligning in the advantage of the return.

When asked by a fan on Twitter if the country would be returning, S4C replied:

So far Wales has competed at two editions of Junior Eurovision Song Contest held in 2018 and 2019. Previuosly Wales has been represented as part of the United Kingdom which took part from 2003 to 2005. As their debut performance they sent Manw who performed “Petra” and ended the contest on 20th place in 2018. You can listen to the song below

In 2019, they sent Erin Mai with “Calon yn Curo” who managed to reach 18th place at Junior Eurovision Song Contest which is their best result so far out of the two participations which they had. You can check the performance below.
