Tanxugueiras win Benidorm Televote with 71% – Chanel received 4%
At a press conference today hosted by RTVE, Director of Communications María Eizaguirre provided some details about how Chanel came to win Benidorm Fest 2022 with her Latin-inspired hit, SloMo which has hit #3 on Spotify’s Viral 50 Global Chart!
Despite this success, Chanel’s victory has caused a level of controversy rarely seen from a national final event for Eurovision. Chanel has unfortunately received many unkind messages from fans who were upset at her victory. Today’s press conference revealed a better look at the maths that led to Chanel’s win.
Benidorm Fest 2022 – Voting Results
The public televote‘s overall weight was 25% of the final vote, and was split:
- Tanxugueiras: 70.75%
- Rigoberta Bandini: 18.08%
- Chanel: 3.97%
- Varry Brava: 2.26%
- Rayden: 2.12%
- Blanca Paloma: 1.04%
- Xeinn: 1.01%
- Gonzalo Hermida: 0.76%
