The Rasmus to perform for Finland in Turin!

The Rasmus have just won Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu 2022 and will represent Finland at the Eurovision Song Contest in May. They will perform the song ‘Jezebel’ on the big stage in Turin!

Today we have been able to watch the final of the 11th edition of the Finnish national selection UMK, which has been held ever since 2012 under different formats. This year the contest has featured a single live show with seven candidates selected from 312 received submissions in the race to represent Finland at Eurovision:

  1. The Rasmus – “Jezebel”
  2. Isaac Scene – “Kuuma jäbä”
  3. Olivera – “Thank God I’m An Atheist”
  4. BESS – “Ram Pam Pam”
  5. Younghearted – “Sun numero”
  6. Cyan Kicks – “Hurricane”
  7. Tommi Läntinen – “Elämä kantaa mua”

The winner was selected after a mix of votes from an international jury panel (25%) and the public vote (75%). The jury panel was made up of former Eurovision stars Elena Tsagkrinou (Cyprus 2021), Keiino (Norway 2019), Bojana Stamenov (Serbia 2015), Jendrik (Germany 2021), Rosa López (Spain 2002), Jan Steinsdoerfer – Lake Malawi (Czech Republic 2019) and journalist Marta Cagnola (Italy). During the show, which has been broadcast live from Turku’s Logomo, we have been able to enjoy the guest performances of the last year’s winners Blind Channel as the opening act, and the rap duo JVG. The hosts of the UMK 2022 final were Paula Vesala and Miisa Rotola-Pukkila.
