The Rasmus: “We will do something on stage that we’ve never done before and it’s quite challenging!”

For many Finnish and international Eurovision fans, it was the biggest reveal of the season, when The Rasmus were announced as one of the seven acts competing at Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu 2022, the Finnish preselection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Turin!

The Rasmus are a Finnish rock band who have gained huge popularity in Finland and all around the world with their music. Since 1996, they have released nine studio albums and loads of succesful singles. Their fifth studio album “Dead Letters” from 2003 reached the top 10 in ten different countries and received eight gold and five platinum awards. The album sold over 2 million times and the song”In The Shadows” even became a world wide hit, reaching the charts in 26 countries, peaking at number 1 in Finland, Germany, Hungary, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.

On February 26th, The Rasmus will compete at UMK 2022 with the song “Jezebel“. We had the pleasure to meet Lauri Ylönen, the frontman of The Rasmus, ahead of the show. Find out what he told us about the band, their song “Jezebel” and their plans for Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu in our interview here!
