Emily Roberts: “I understand the criticism directed towards the selection, but we artists can do nothing about it!”

Germany will select their entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 this Friday, on March 4th, in their national final “Germany 12 Points”. Ahead of the big show, we got the chance to have an interview with Emily Roberts, who is one of the six finalists with the song “Soap”.

Emily Roberts is a 28 year old singer-songwriter from Hamburg, who is half German and half British. She started writing songs at age 15 and has released several singles, EPs and the album “Crying Over Spilled Milk” since then. Her cover of “Bitter Sweet Symphony” with the DJ duo Gamper & Dadoni has reached gold status in the German and Austrian charts.

In our interview, Emily talked about her song “Soap”, the current criticism the artists have to face and why entering the German national final has not been as good of an experience, as she had hoped. Watch it here:
