Icelandic broadcaster RÚV has revealed the full voting results of Söngvakeppnin semi-final as well as the Grand final which took place last Saturday. The super final featured Reykjavíkurdætur and Sigga, Beta & Elín and the latter won Söngvakeppnin 2022 and will represent Iceland at Eurovision Song Contest with “Með hækkandi sól”

The results of Söngvakeppnin 2022 have been revealed showing that Reykjavíkurdætur went into the Super Final as the favourites, but lost out to Sigga, Beta & Elín overall by just over 8,000 votes.

Semi-Final 1 (26th of February)

1. Sigga, Beta & Elín – Með hækkandi sól – 10.788 votes (qualified to the final)
2. Stefán Óli – Ljósið – 7.017 votes (qualified to the final)
3. Amarosis – Don’t you know – 7.006 votes (Wild card finalist)
4. Stefanía Svavarsdóttir – Hjartað mitt – 5613 votes
5. Haffi Haff – Gía – 4.828 votes

Semi-Final 2 (5th of March)

1. Reykjavíkurdætur – Tökum af stað – 13.137 votes (qualified to the final)
2. Katla – Þaðan af – 5.251 votes (qualified to the final)
3. Suncity & Sanna Martinez – Hækkum í botn – 4.170 votes
4. Markéta – Mögulegt – 3.251 votes
5. Hanna Mia and the Astrotourists – Séns með þér – 3.197 votes

Grand Final 

The voting during the grand final went in two phases. First phase included the combined vote of Icelandic audience and the jury after which the favourite was Reykjavíkurdætur with “Turn This Around”. Later on the two best placed acts Reykjavíkurdætur and Sigga, Beta & Elín advanced to the super final round where the winner was chosen solely by the audience votes.

3. Amarosis -Don’t you know: 12.506 votes
4. Stefán Óli -Ljósið: 9.126 votes

1. Reykjavíkurdætur -Turn This Around: 19.437 votes
2. Sigga, Beta & Elín -Með hækkandi sól: 18.141 votes
3. Þaðan af -Katla: 15.031 votes
4. Stefán Óli -Ljósið: 13.476 votes
5. Amarosis -Don’t you know: 11.921 votes

2. Sigga, Beta & Elín -Með hækkandi sól: 42.224 votes

4. Stefán Óli -Ljósið: 22.602 votes
5. Katla – Þaðan af : 21.003 votes

Grand Final – Super Final

Audience vote:

1. Sigga, Beta & Elín – Með hækkandi sól: 35.156 votes
2. Reykjavíkurdætur -Turn This around: 23.470 votes

Sigga, Beta & Elín won after they received 11,686 votes more than Reykjavíkurdætur in the Super final phase of the Grand final. The total results were then combined with the voting in first round of the grand final and the standing was as follows:

1. Sigga, Beta & Elín – Með hækkandi sól: 77,380 votes
2. Reykjavíkurdætur -Turn This around: 69,227 votes
