Jury members for Festival Da Canção 2022 semi-finals revealed!

Earlier today, RTP and Antena 1 revealed the names of the jury members for the semi-finals of this year’s edition of Festival Da Canção, which begins in two days’ time in Lisbon.

As you can see, there are a few familiar faces on the panel. The full seven-strong panel, who will provide half the votes this coming Saturday and Monday, will consist of:

  • Dulce Pontes (winner of FDC 1991 and 8th at Eurovision in Rome with Lusitana paixão)
  • Dino D’Santiago (Morna, Batuku and Funaná artist and songwriter)
  • Surma (jazz singer, real name Débora Umbelino)
  • Teresa Salgueiro (lead singer of Fado duo Madredeus)
  • Pedro Granger (British-Portuguese actor and MC of press conferences at Eurovision 2018)
  • Miguel Cadete (Senior Editor of Expresso and Blitz news sites)
  • Tatanka (lead singer of The Black Mamba, winner of FDC 2021 and 12th at Eurovision 2021 with Love Is On My Side)

The first semi-final will kick off at 22:00 CET (21:00 UTC) on Saturday 5th March, and will be hosted by Jorge Gabriel and Sónia Araújo, and includes such fan favourites as Aurea, Maro and Fado Bicha.

The second will start at the same time and will see Tânia Ribas de Oliveira and José Carlos Malato take hosting duties, with Inês Homem de Melo, Syro, Blacci and Pongo & Tristany, among others, taking to the stage. Ten of the 20 songs will qualify for the final the following Saturday, with the winner getting Portugal’s ticket to Turin.
