Katla: “From what I’ve been reading, people want me to keep the song in Icelandic!”

Katla Njálsdóttir is a 19 year old singer who is one of the 10 semi-finalists in Iceland’s national final Söngvakeppnin. Katla is coming from a very musical family, her father is a musician and inspired her a lot and she has been working on several musicals already. Born in 2002, she is also the youngest performer at this year’s Söngvakeppnin. At the second semi-final, Katla will perform her song “Þaðan af” (English: “Then Again”) hoping to qualify to the final on March 11th and of course to win the ticket to represent Iceland at the Eurovision Song Contest in Turin.

We had the big pleasure to meet Katla ahead of her performance. Watch our full interview here!

We thank Katla very much for having this delightful chat with us and wish her the best of luck for the competition!
