Malik Harris To Represent Germany At Eurovision 2022!

It’s official. Germany has spoken and Malik Harris will be the German representative for the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Turin! After winning, he was asked if he had ever been to Italy, and he said that it’s been about 15 years – that’s about to change! Germany’s national final “Germany 12 Points” was broadcast on ARD and NDR with Barbara Schöneberger as its delightful and entertaing host!

Aside from the six acts performing in the final, the show featured two former Eurovision winners, including Conchita from 2014 and Jamala from 2016. Conchita and Jane Comerford of Texas Lightning sang a medley of their Eurovision songs. While Jamala‘s presence in Berlin was truly sensational, as she has very recently fled from Ukraine with her children and took time tonight to discuss the war going on in her home country. She also gave a very emotional performance of “1944” that had the audience on its feet and in tears.

The results were based on two votes, both from the German public. The first came from radio listeners across Germany, who voted online in the days leading up to the Final, the second vote came from viewers during the show. Both votes were worth 50% and interestingly, there was no jury this year.

  1. Malik Harris – “Rockstars” 208 points
  2. Maël & Jonas – “I Swear to God” 185 points
  3. Nico Suave & Team Liebe – “Hallo Welt” 157 points
  4. Felicia Lu – “Anxiety” 139 points
  5. Eros Atomus – “Alive” 123 points
  6. Emily Roberts – “Soap” 53 points
