Sigga, Beta and Elín will represent Iceland at Eurovision 2022!

The final of Icelandic selection for Eurovision Song Contest 2022, Söngvakeppnin just finished minutes ago. The winner of the show and the act which will represent Iceland in Turin are the three sisters Sigga, Beta and Elín with “Með Hækkandi Sól”

Björg Magnúsdóttir, Jón Jónsson and Ragnhildur Steinunn Jónsdóttir were the hosts of the show during which five acts competed for a chance to wave the Icelandic flag at Eurovision 2022. Two of those acts qualified from the first semi-final, two from the second and one additional act was selected as the wild card for the final.

The running order was as follows:

  1. Katla – Þaðan Af
  2. Amarosis – Don’t You Know
  3. Reykjavíkurdætur  – Turn This Around
  4. Stefán Óli – Ljósið
  5. Sigga, Beta and Elín – Með Hækkandi Sól

You can check our interviews with Katla and Sigga, Beta and Elín. The show also featured Tusse as the interval act who performed his Eurovision 2021 entry “Voices”. Tonight’s voting was done in two rounds, the two acts which advanced to the super final were Reykjavíkurdætur and Sigga, Beta and Elín. In the super final the audience voted and Sigga, Beta and Elín emerged as the winners of the show. You can check their performance below.
