Switzerland will reveal their artist and song on March 8th!

The first ever winning country of the Eurovision Song Contest, Switzerland, has had some tough years at the competition throughout the 21st century. They missed out on the final on many occasions, even finishing last in the semi-finals frequently and even when they made it to final, there has never been the possibility for a third victory.

This changed in 2019, when the Eurovision Song Contest was held in Tel Aviv. Luca Hänni managed to get Switzerland to the final for the first time in five years with the song “She Got Me” and ended up in a sensational 4th place there. After the cancellation of the Eurovision Song Contest 2020, Switzerland decided to send their chosen act Gjon’s Tears to the competition in 2021 again. At the competition in Rotterdam, Gjon’s Tears was immensely succesful. He won the jury vote and finished in 3rd place in the final, bringing Switzerland back to the top 3 for the first time since 1993.

This year, Schweizer Rundfunk (SRF) is looking for a new artist, who has the potential and the song keep up this big wave of success. And it looks like they have found the one! The SRF account tweeted these news this morning, revealing that we will hear the Swiss entry on March 8th 2022!
