Vaidotas Valiukevicius to be the Lithuanian spokesperson in Turin!

The Lithuanian broadcaster LRT has announced that Vaidotas Valiukevicius, the singer of The Roop, will be the Lithuanian spokesperson in Eurovision 2022. Valiukevicius and his band represented Lithuania in last year’s Eurovision in Rotterdam with their song Discoteque, finishing 8th with 220 points:

The Roop was founded in 2014 , and the band has released three albums: To Whom It May Concern in 2015, Ghosts in 2017 and Yes, I Do in 2018. The Roop won the Lithuanian national selection, Pabandom iš naujo, already in 2020 with their song On Fire, but they didn’t get to represent their country that year, since Eurovision 2020 was cancelled because of covid-19 pandemic. The band got another chance to carry the Lithuanian flag in Eurovision last year, when they won Pabandom iš naujo 2021 with Discoteque.

This year Lithuania is represented by Monika Liu and her song Sentimentai. Liu will wave her home country’s flag in the first semifinal on May 10th. You can listen to this year’s Lithuanian entry here:
