AVROTROS has selected the four acts that will compete at this year’s Dutch national selection for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. After weeks of intense auditions and deliberations, the broadcaster has published the name of the four candidates that will perform the four original songs at the live final on September 24th in Rotterdam.

The Auditions

Last year, AVROTROS started the search for the best voices for their national final Junior Songfestival. Following the format of previous years, the broadcaster accepted applications and held different live auditions to select the best singers for the contest:

The Junior Songfestival Academy

At the end of the round, a number of candidates made it through to the final audition having the chance to enter the Junior Songfestival academy and work on different aspects of the performance with professionals:

The Finalists

Working with the academy’s candidates helped the professionals choose which ones had more potential to perform on a big stage, singing, dancing, and performing. This new feature was introduced this year as they mainly focused on the voice in previous editions. So, after deliberations, the team of professionals selected the following candidates, which were allocated into four different acts:

So, the following acts will compete at Junior Songfestival 2022:

• I N F I N I T Y – Eva, Kayleigh, Larissa, and Lemay (girlband)
• Mixed up – Joep, Lois, Noor, and Sam (mixed group)
• Luna Sabella (solo act)
• HIGH5 – Danny, Kaey, Luuk, Thijs, and Thomas (boyband)

The Songs

All the candidates have already started working on the postcards and songs for the live final as well as preparing the outfits they will be wearing. Snippets and song titles have been revealed too! You can discover them in the following seconds of the video which is right below:

The next step will be the live performances for the final, so the kids will work on the staging and choreography to have everything ready for the Dutch show and Junior Eurovision in case of a win!
