BBC Eurovision commentator Graham Norton has wed his long-time partner! Media reports from across the British Isles tell of a lavish, private ceremony held in west Cork, in Ireland, near where Norton grew up. The ceremony was closed to the media, and it is speculated that the guest list was capped at 120.
The Independent is reporting that Norton’s nuptials included performances by Eurovision 1969 winner Lulu and an act involving some of the members of Riverdance, who were the Interval Act at Eurovision in 1994.
Norton took over Eurovision commentating duty from Terry Wogan for the United Kingdom at the 2009 Contest in Moscow. At the 2014 Contest in Copenhagen, the commentators were highlighted during the broadcast, and Norton was interviewed live by the hosts. To cap off the segment, an explosion of streamers filled the arena, to which Graham chuckled,
“It’s like the gay wedding I’ll never have.”
Now that Graham has had his wedding, the team at ESCBubble wish him and his partner all the best!
When Conchita won in 2014, Eurovision made the news here across the pond. I found it on YouTube a few days later and remember watching Mariya Yaremchuk and her now infamous hamster wheel and wondering what was I watching?! I've since converted a group of friends into Eurovision fans and we've watched every Contest (and many NFs) ever since.
Watching Eurovision 2022 unfold in Turin was an experience I'll never forget, and I look forward to many more!
