🇬🇧 Eurovision 2023 Host City Shortlist Coming on Friday!
We don’t have long to find out until we’ll have a better idea where Eurovision 2023 will be going! Ukraine’s victory at Eurovision 2022 in May set in motion a lot of speculation as to where the 2023 Contest could be staged, due to the ongoing war.
Since the British broadcaster BBC were announced by the European Broadcasting Union as 2023’s host country, over 17 cities have announced their intentions to host next year, with Cardiff recently dropping out of the race.
In a tweet today from Eurotrip podcast host James Rowe, we got some news that the timeline for the host selection is moving along quite quickly:
🚨 The BBC will announce a shortlist of cities in the running to host #Eurovision 2023 on Friday 12 August on the @BBCRadio2 Breakfast Show.

So this Friday 12th August, the shortlist will be announced during the BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show. For comparison, last year host broadcaster RAI announced a shortlist of 5 cities (Bologna, Milan, Pesaro, Rimini, and Turin), but it is still unclear how many cities the BBC will keep in contention this Friday!
We’ll have all the news for you on Friday when the official announcement finally comes!
