Iceland Opens Submissions For Söngvakeppnin 2023!

Icelandic broadcaster RÚV has confirmed their participation at Eurovision 2023 and today they have opened the submission window for their national selection Söngvakeppnin 2023. The deadline for all interested artists to submit their songs is 4th of October and they can do it via the following link.

But that’s not all as RÚV has revealed the dates of Söngvakeppnin 2023, semi-finals are scheduled for 18th and 25th of February while the Final will take place on 4th of March.

Like in the previous Söngvakeppnin will feature ten songs out of which five songs will compete at each of the semi-finals and those songs are expected to be revealed by RÚV in January. The submissions will be evaluated and later on selected by the representatives of FTT, FÍH and RÚV, with experienced and popular songwriters who are also invited to take part.

At Eurovision Song Contest 2022 the trio Systur was selected to represent Iceland with “Með hækkandi sól”. They received 23 points and ended at the 23rd place in the final of the show. You can check their performance below.
