Kazakhstan to select Junior Eurovision 2022 entrant today

Khabar Agency has confirmed participation in the upcoming Junior Eurovision Song Contest.    This will be the fifth time the country will compete at EBU’s song contest for kids. The broadcaster has also announced they will select their representative from the contest Baqytty Bala, whose final will take place today.

Baqytty Bala is a musical project sponsored by the Kazakh singer Dimash that gets 21 young performers from eight different nationalities together on stage to perform during different rounds. The contest is being held in the city of Aktobe and features the Spanish Junior Eurovision 2019 entrant Melani García, who is part of the lineup.

The winner and Kazakh representative will be selected by a jury panel made up of Kazakh experts of the cultural panorama Askhat Maemirov, Marat Aitimov, Kanat Aitbaev, Rukhiya Baidukinova, Yernar Nurtazin. In order to meet the requirements of Junior Eurovision, we expect that the Kazakh representative will be selected from the country’s candidates aged under 14.

Kazakhstan debuted at Junior Eurovision in 2018, when Daneliya Tuleshova performed on the big stage in Minsk. The country has achieved two second places until the date as their best results.
