Nicolas Alves to represent Portugal at Junior Eurovision 2022!

RTP has just announced the name of the singer that will wave the Portuguese flag at Junior Eurovision. The runner-up of The Voice Kids Nicolas Alves will represent his country in Yerevan.

This year, RTP has opted once again to select their Junior Eurovision performer from The Voice, which is broadcast on the same channel. The last year’s winner Simao Oliveira went on to represent Portugal in Paris. However, the winner of The Voice Kids 2022 Maria Gil is 15 years old, which means she can’t compete at Junior Eurovision as the maximum age is 14 years. The runner-up of the contest will be taking that prize instead and will step on the big stage in December.

Nicolas Alves is 12 years old and comes from Torres Vedras. He has Brazilian roots and lived in England until he was 10 years old. Nicolas started singing at the age of 4 and attended the music school for the first time when he was 8. In his free time, he enjoys the guitar and playing with his brothers.

The song Nicolas will perform at Junior Eurovision is expected to be released at a later date.
