Noa Kirel confirms Eurovision 2023 participation!

Last month we reported on Noa Kirel having been chosen internally by a 10-member committee which included KAN executives, musicians and other professionals appointed by IPBC. Soon after, rumours emerged of Noa herself not being certain yet but less than a month later we get the answer!

This morning, KAN and Noa Kirel (plus her management) have held a joint press conference in which Noa confirmed that, indeed, she will be flying the flag for Israel at the Eurovision Song Contest next year!
She shared the news herself on her Instagram page:

On why it took a little bit of time to make a statement on the participation herself, she addressed this in an interview with Asti Perez and Dorit Asraf Mizrahi on the show “Hazet Hayom”: ”I had to let the madness pass because I had to make this decision myself. It went out to the media and there was a huge uproar. I was waiting for everything to calm down.”

But now she is going in full force! She shared during the press conference:

I had to put my ego and concerns aside. I’m not used to being in a situation of competing with people. Recently, I also learned about the risks, and that not everything falls and rises on artistry and performance, but in a decision from the heart, I put all that aside and go out with complete faith. I’m setting out to bring great honor to the country.

On the Eurovision entry, she commented that IPBC have given her complete artistic freedom with regards to the song but that the song has not been decided on yet.
