Chanel to sing title song in the live-action remake of Disney’s Pinocchio

The Spanish social media account of the streaming platform Disney Plus has just revealed the singer of the main song for the new live-action remake of “Pinocchio” and it is none other than Benidorm Fest winner and Spanish Eurovision representative Chanel. The third place of this year’s Eurovision Song Contest will sing the title song “When You Wish Upon A Star“, which in the Spanish version is called “La Estrella Azul“. Chanel greets the Spanish Disney fans with a lot of excitement in the Instagram post and even gives us  a small teaser of her interpretation of the song!

The movie will be released on September 8, 2022 on Disney Plus and features Tom Hanks in the main role of Geppetto, the Italian woodcarver who builds Pinocchio and raises him as his son.

Chanel won this year’s Benidorm Fest with the song “SloMo”, receiving the biggest support from the Spanish juries and winning the national final, despite receiving less than 4% in the televoting. Chanel did a great job representing her country in Turin, finishing in 3rd place overall and getting Spain their best result since 1995.

Her performance in the Grand Final just became the most watched live performance out of all the 2022 contestants. You can re-watch it here!
