Meet the participants of the Ukrainian final for Junior Eurovision 2022

UA:PBC has revealed the name of the 5 candidates that have reached the final of the country’s national selection for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2022.  The winner will be selected by a combination of jury and public voting during a broadcast that is set to take place on September 18th.

This year, and due to the country’s situation, kids could apply from either the country or abroad regardless of where they were staying. From more than fifty submissions received, the broadcaster has shortlisted the following acts:

  • Duo “Sofiia Artemenko and DJ Polіnka”

To participate in the national selection for Junior Eurovision, 14-year-old Sofia Artemenko and 11-year-old DJ Polinka united to form a band and performed the original song “Zamovliannia” (Spell). DJ Polinka came to grips with the mixing console at the age of 3, and at the age of 10 she was a special guest of the Black Sea Games festival. This summer, DJ Polinka was the main character of In the Dungeon, a Child’s Voice project and recorded a series of DJ sets from the bomb shelters of the Kyiv region.
Sofia Artemenko has been singing since the age of 9, participated in concerts and many artistic events. She was a participant of various television talent shows. She performed the song “SHUM” with the lead singer of Go_A band Kateryna Pavlenko during the Save Ukraine-#Stop War charity marathon.

  • Zlata Dziunka

13-year-old Zlata entered the list of the finalists with her original song “Nezlamna” (Unbreakable). The girl lives in the city of Rava-Ruska. She participated in and won many competitions and festivals, including Prague Art Festival (Czech Republic), Zvaigzdziu sonata 2022 (Lithuania), Vistula Sounds 2022 (Poland).

  • Yelyzaveta Petruk

14-year-old Yelyzaveta made it to the list of the finalists with her song “Pisnia pro Lelechat” (The Song about Baby Storks). The girl lives in the town of Gostomel near Kyiv. Yelyzaveta has been a vocals student of Golden Voice studio and Oleksandr Ponomariov Vocal Academy for 3 years. She has won and participated in various music competitions and festivals, in particular, Conquer the Stage, Star Waves and others.

  • Daria Rebrova

13-year-old Daria became a finalist with her original song “Paporpti kvitka” (Fern Flower). The girl was born in Donetsk and attended the music development class at Leontovych music school from the age of 3. In 2014, she moved to the city of Kramatorsk and began studying at an art school. Daria is a regular participant of the vocal intensives of Oleksandr Ponomariov Vocal Academy. She is the winner of various competitions, including SUPER STAR FEST charity festival, Young Europe and others.

  • Diana Stasiuk

14-year-old Diana qualified for the final with her original song “We are the Future”. She has been studying in the theatre and film studio since the 1st grade. She practices singing at Golden Voice school, Bright School, and Oleksandr Ponomariov Vocal Academy. Diana is a laureate and winner of many competitions and festivals, including The Black Sea Games and Talented Children of Ukraine. She is also a dubbing actress.

This year the broadcaster has allowed the public to choose the jury members through public voting that will finish today. The winners will make up the panel that will evaluate all the entries in the final to decide half of the outcome. You will be able to watch the final of the Ukrainian national selection on Suspilne Kultura and on Eurovision Ukraine YouTube channel and Eurovision Ukraine Facebook page.
