A maximum of 16 acts will be chosen as the lineup for the semi-final.

The president of RTVE José Manuel Pérez Tornero has expressed his excitement about the return of the Festival, calling it a huge success:

We have attracted international attention with a format that combines values and creativity and promotes solidarity among artists; they have followed it from the oldest to the youngest, we have summoned them outside the social networks in a moment of shared illusion

This year’s Benidorm Fest was won by Chanel with “SloMo”, who got the biggest support from the Spanish juries and therefore won the national final, despite receiving less than 4% in the televoting. However, Chanel did a great job representing her country in Turin, finishing in 3rd place overall and getting Spain their best result since 1995.
