Sara James, the Polish runner-up of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2021, has recently made the news for her participation in America’s Got Talent, where she auditioned with “lovely” by Billie Eilish and received the Golden Buzzer by long-time judge Simon Cowell and was therefore secured a direct spot in the live shows.
In the first live show, the 14-year-old has then performed among 10 other acts, which all competed for a place in the final. Out of these 11 acts, only the two most voted ones made it to the final and impressively, Sara James was one of them! With a stunning performance of Elton John’s “Rocket Man”, she managed to convince the US-American audience and advanced to the final.
How the Final went down!
This year, the final of America’s Got Talent consisted of two nights and featured 11 finalists. During the first night, Sara James performed Kate Bush’s mega hit from 1985 “Running Up That Hill“, which recently re-gained a lot of international popularity. Sara interpreted the song in her own, unique way, for which she was highly praised by the judges. However, the results would not be announced before the second night.
During the second night of the finals, Sara did not perform on stage alone but was accompanied by the word widely acknowledged band The Black Eyed Peas. They all performed their hit “Let’s Get It Started” and while Sara did a fantastic job, many fans were left unsatisfied and claimed that it was not the right song choice, to show off Sara’s vocal talent for the final round.
After all of the 11 finalists performed for the second time, it was time for the results and the official Top 5 was announced as follows:

As you can see, Sara James was sadly not among the top 5 but just missed out, ending up in a fantastic 6th place! The winners of the show were the Lebanese dancing group Mayyas, who like Sara, got a Golden Buzzer during the casting rounds!
