Belgium: Seven artists to compete with two songs each in Eurosong 2023
In August 2022, Belgium revealed that their Flemish broadcaster VRT would return to a national selection to find their representative for the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 in Liverpool. The competition will be hosted by Peter Van De Veire and is set to take place in different stages.
The Belgian magazine Het Laatste Nieuws now revealed more details about the upcoming show. There will be seven different acts competing in Eurosong 2023, each with two different songs. A televoting is supposed to decide one song for each act, which they will then perform in the final, which is most likely going to take place in mid-February. The show will be held in the concert arena Paleis 12 in Brussels, one of the biggest venues in Belgium which has hosted big events like the Music Industry Awards or the MIAs.
Jérémie Makiese represented Belgium at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Turin with the song “Miss You” and succesfully qualified to the Grand Final, where he finished in 19th place with 64 points.
