PBS has just held the final of MJESC, the Maltese national selection for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. After a public and jury voting, Gaia Gambuzza has got the ticket to Yerevan and will perform the song ‘Diamonds in the Skies’ on 11th December.
Following an open call for songs and artists, PBS shortlisted 16 candidates for the live final:
- Emma Kate Formosa – “Bounce”
- Gaia Gambuzza – “Diamonds in the Skies”
- Shanzay Mangion – “Heartbeat”
- Kaylyn Mallia – “Here I Am”
- Aaliyah Cassar – “Infinity”
- Rih and Bri – “Karma”
- Cassidy Gauci – “Light Up”
- Naomi Busuttil – “Little Cheeky”
- Cesca Galea – “See the Invisible”
- Kayleen Mercicea – “Shooting Star”
- Andrea Camilleri – “Spark”
- Ma Girlz – “Stereo”
- Charelle Micallef – “The Extra Miles”
- Kensley Ciappara – “Tliet Xadini”
- Isis Jade Miller – “Unbreakable”
- Geneve Dimech – “With You By My Side”
The winner has been selected by a combination of votes from the public (25%) and a professional jury panel (75%). The show, recorded at PBS studios, didn’t feature a live audience. All finalists delivered their songs live in front of the jury panel members. The public at home had the chance to vote for their favourite acts via SMS.
