Just 3 Artists from San Marino Have Submitted to National Final

Eurovision’s smallest country is still looking for its next Eurovision act, but there’s a good chance that the artist who will fly the Sammarinese flag won’t be a citizen of the Most Serene Republic!

As of today (14th October), out of all the submitted songs, only three have come from Sammarinese artists. In comparison, in Una voce per San Marino 2022, six Sammarinese artists made it to the televised round, and all six competed in their own Semi Final.

Broadcaster SMRTV reports that so far, 402 artists have applied to participate in Una voce per San Marino 2023. That is down from the 585 applications received for the inaugural 2022 edition, but there is still some time for late submissions until 20th January.

Most of the international submissions (334, or a staggering 83%) come from neighboring Italy, yet some 20 countries are represented overall, and include Spain, Germany, and Norway.

Already, this Monday 17th October, SMRTV will post the first audition calendar to its website. These will take place in San Marino at the Little Tony Auditorium in Serravalle.
