Sophie Lennon to fly the Irish flag at Junior Eurovision

Sophie Lennon has just won the Irish national final for Junior Eurovision and will wave her country’s flag in Yerevan! The final has featured a total of three candidates qualified from the last week’s semifinal.

Once again, Junior Eurovision Eire has been the show tg4 has used to select the voice that will represent Ireland at Junior Eurovision. The whole format was made up of six shows that have featured the best voices of the country. This year, the broadcaster introduced a small change, allowing the public to vote at the final for the first time ever.

At the show, the three finalists have performed cover songs, including versions of Ireland’s Eurovision past. The professional jury panel followed the performances closely and talked about their impressions to help the public to decide on the winner.

  • Sophie Lennon – Leave A Light On/Why Me?
  • Niamh Noae – Pompeii/Rock’n Roll Kids

After all six performances, the public has had the chance to vote online.

Sophie Lennon has won the Irish national selection after being one of the finalists at the last year’s national selection. Also, the young performer took part at Britain’s Got Talent earlier this year reaching the semifinal. So, 2022 is definitely her year! Will she also succeed at Junior Eurovision?
