The 61st edition of Festivali i Këngës will take place in December 2022 and RTSH has just published the 26 competing acts. The winner of the competition will represent Albania at the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 in Liverpool. Earlier this month, OGAE Albania revealed the big news, that the competition would introduce a televote for it’s 61st edition. RTSH made the announcement on their official website and social media channels, and revealed that 22 solo singers and 4 music groups will participate in the competition.

Last year’s edition of Festivali i Këngës was won by Ronela Hajati with the song “Sekret“, which represented Albania at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Turin. Despite being a fan favorite, Ronela was unable to finish higher than 12th in the semi-final and therefore did not advance to the grand final. However, the music video for “Sekret” is still the fifth most watched music video of this year’s competition.
