Germany opens submissions for Unser Lied Für Liverpool

German broadcaster NDR just revealed that Unser Lied für Liverpool will be the national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 and opened submissions for their final. All genres and artists are welcome to apply, both German and international singers or composers will be accepted. You can submit a song to the German national final through this link. The submissions will close on November 28.

A group of musical experts will select the participants among all the applications. These experts consist of people from the German music industry, the German Eurovision delegation, the international Eurovision fandom and, despite of the critics this year, the ARD radio stations. NDR will also approach artists directly. The number of participants is not decided yet.

For the first time ever, artists can even apply through the app TikTok with the hashtag #UnserLiedFürLiverpool. The most promising songs, chosen by the expert team, will be put on a vote on TikTok and the most voted application is going to participate in the national final.

Unser Lied für Liverpool is set to take place in the beginning of March and will keep the voting system from last year: A combination of the German radio stations’ votes and the German televoting will decide the winner!

Malik Harris won the German national final Germany 12 Points this year and represented the country with the song “Rockstars” in Turin. He finished in 25th place with 6 points.
