Thursday the 17th of November, one of the largest Eurovision-themed concerts there is took place for the second time. It’s Het Grote Songfestivalfeest (English: The Big Eurovision Song Contest Party), being held in the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam. A wide variety of Eurovision stars, from those having competed decades ago to as recent as this year performed for an audience of around 12,000 excited fans.
Earlier that afternoon, ESCBubble had the chance to speak to some of the performing artists.
This time: KEiiNO!

KEiiNO consists of Alexandra Rotan, Tom Hugo and Fred Buljo. In 2019 they won Melodi Grand Prix, the Norwegian national final, with ‘Spirit in the Sky’ and thus won the right to represent their country at the Eurovision Song Contest. And with great success! In Tel Aviv, they qualified to the Grand Final and received the highest amount of televotes (291) of all countries, finishing 6th overall!
In Amsterdam, I asked them about that moment and their upcoming projects.

You guys were the fan favourites of Eurovision 2019. Going back to that moment: how shocked were you guys when you go that massive televote score?

Alexandra: I think I was in shock, I was only crying!

Tom: Yeah, we hoped that we would get more point from the televoters than we had gotten from the juries, but we did not expect this at all! It was amazing, to see that what we were trying to achieve, trying to create was actually working.

For you as well, right, Fred? Especially since you also put your culture into it!

Fred: Yes, it’s very important to me. It’s always been my mission to show Sami culture. It feels like it’s my life’s mission.

What projects are you working on right now? What is next?

Tom: We just released a new song today, called: ‘Nights of Thunder’. We’ve actually been working on a lot of new music, that’s going to be released next year. And we’re also opening a metaverse where fans can meet digitally. For free. And that’s going to be opened next week already! And you can register right now to get early access.
