Måns Zelmerlöw: ”We’ll see in what kind of capacity I’ll be involved in in Eurovision this year…”
Thursday the 17th of November, one of the largest Eurovision-themed concerts there is took place for the second time. It’s Het Grote Songfestivalfeest (English: The Big Eurovision Song Contest Party), being held in the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam. A wide variety of Eurovision stars, from those having competed decades ago to as recent as this year performed for an audience of around 12,000 excited fans.
Earlier that afternoon, ESCBubble had the chance to speak to some of the performing artists.
This time: Måns Zelmerlöw!
Having participated in Melodifestivalen, the swedish pre-selection, a few times, Måns won the 2015 national final in a landslide fashion. Armed with an innovative staging (including a video wall with graphics he interacted with) and a contemporary song, he won the Eurovision Song Contest itself too, earning Sweden their 6th victory.
A well-known guest at subsequent Eurovision editions, Måns was also invited to this Eurovision extravaganza in Amsterdam, where I had the chance to ask him a few questions.
After Eurovision you, in a way, started a whole new life: you moved to the United Kingdom. You became a father. How is life for you right now?
After becoming a dad? It’s good! We just had another son, who is now thirteen weeks old, so we don’t get much sleep haha. But he’s amazing and yeah life in the UK is good!

And also professionally, do you have any projects coming up? And I’m asking because I know you have some big projects coming up!
Yeah, there is quite a lot actually! I’m doing a Christmas tour with Carola, in stadiums all over Sweden. Then there’s also some new music going to be released. I’m hopefully also gonna do a tour in spring and then we’ll see in what kind of capacity I’ll be involved in in Eurovision this year…
Yes, I was gonna ask: will you be involved in Eurovision again?
I’m hoping I will be! I love Eurovision and I always wanna be involved somehow, as you know!
