Melodifestivalen shakes up the Semi-Final for 2023

Swedish broadcaster SVT just announced a change in the system for the upcoming Melodifestivalen.

Last year, the Andra Chansen round was removed and there was a Semi-Final instead. The eight semi-finalists were divided into two groups. The two most voted songs of each group made it to the final. This will change for next year’s Melodifestivalen!

Instead, all eight songs that made it to the Semi-Final will compete directly against each other. The four most voted songs of the evening will advance to the final.

It’s everyone against everyone in the 2023 Semi-Final!! 🔥🔥 Last year’s group division in the semi-final will be removed for Melodifestivalen 2023. Instead, all the eight entries will compete against each other. 🎶 Points will be awarded by the different age groups and the four songs with the most votes will make it to the final! 🎉🎉
