TVR annouced today details about Selecţia Naţională 2023, the song submissions will start on November 14 and last until December 11. Between 14 and 16 December a jury will evaluate the submissions and select the 12 finalists, the finalists will be announced by December 17 at the latest. The National Final will take place on 11 February 2023 and the winner will be selected by a combination of online and public voting.

All the songs for the selection can be sent to eurovision.romania@tvr.ro, details can be found on their official website.

Selecţia Naţională is Romania’s traditional selection for Eurovision, but usually they have different voting methods, in recent years the jury has been more vocal on choosing the winner, but in 2018 it was the public who selected the winner. In 2018 Romania failed to qualify for the Grand Final with the song “Goodbye” by The Humans, we’ll see if the public will choose wisely this time and if the online voting and the public voting will have the same favorite.

Last year Romania was represented by WRS with the song “Llámame” and finished 18th in the Grand Final with 65 points.
