Songwriters for Festival Da Canção 2023 revealed – final set for March 11
The Portuguese broadcaster RTP has just revealed the composers and lyricists of the 20 competing songs at Festival da Canção 2023. 15 of the songwriters were invited by RTP directly and five more were selected through a public process. It is likely that many of these songwriters will also perform the songs at the festival, although the official list of artists will be revealed on a later date.

Furthermore, it was also confirmed that the final of Festival da Canção will take place on March 11. As usual, there will be two semi-finals before the grand final, which are likely going to take place on Febraury 25 and March 4.
This year’s winner of Portugal’s biggest music event was MARO with “Saudade Saudade” who went on to represent Portugal at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Turin and ended up in a sensational 9th place, which is Portugal’s second best result in the 21st century!
