THESE are the 12 acts who will compete at Sanremo Giovani 2022

Further to today’s earlier report on the 20 artists competing at Area Sanremo for a place in Sanremo Giovani, Italian broadcaster Rai and Sanremo’s official Instagram have published the names of the twelve artists who will compete for the three remaining places at Sanremo 2023 on 16th December, as well as the songs they will sing.

The four artists who got through today’s round of auditions, and the songs they will perform, are:

  • Colla Zio – Asfalto
  • Fiat131 – Pupille
  • Noor – Tua Amelie
  • Romeo & Drill – Giorno di scuola

These four acts will join the previous eight, who were announced on 5th November, in the newcomers’ version of the Sanremo Music Festival. These acts, whose songs can all be found on Rai Play, are:

  • gIANMARIA – La città che odi
  • Giuse the Lizia – Sincera
  • Maninni – Mille porte 
  • Mida – Malditè
  • OLLY – L’anima balla
  • Sethu – Sottoterra
  • Shari – Sotto voce
  • Will – Le cose più importanti

The acts for Sanremo 2023, which will run between 7th and 11th February 2023 at the iconic Teatro Ariston, will be revealed on 4th December, and the three acts who win Sanremo Giovani in December will enter the main festival with different songs.

Last year, Matteo Romano, Tananai and Yuman all qualified for Sanremo through the Newcomers’ contest. This year is the 16th edition of a show that has existed on-and-off since 1993, and has been won in the past by Laura Pausini, Elisa, Noemi, Ermal Meta and many other now-recognisable names of Italian music.
