‘Duje’ will be revamped but remain in Albanian

We’re living the last days of 2022 but we know two songs for the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 already, one of them being the Albanian entry! On national television, Albina Klemendi herself outlined some plans surrounding the participation.

As usual, the Albanian entry was chosen through the longstanding Festivali i Këngës. This year, however, a little differently as a jury awarded several prizes (including the winner: Elsa Lila with ‘Evita’), while a separate televoting had a 100% in who they want to see at Eurovision: Albina & Familja Kelmendi with ‘Duje’!

In an interview with Albanian broadcaster RTSH, Albina explained that the lyrics of the song are not, as commonly thought, about the separation of a couple but in a broader sense: the separation of family members. Next to that, Burja Kelmendi revealed that the song will receive a revamp before the contest in Liverpool but that the song will remain in the Albanian language.

Are you happy the song is getting a revamp? And that the song will stay in the Albanian language?
