LRT disqualified Lina Štalytė from Pabandom iš Naujo!

A few days ago LRT has announced the list of 30 participants which will be competing at Pabandom Iš Naujo for a chance to represent Lithuania in the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest.

The participant list was adjusted earlier today, as it has been revealed that one of the singers selected to compete, Lina Štalytė has broke the rules and has thus been disqualified from Pabandom Iš Naujo. Lina’s entry “My Body” was published on YouTube back in 2020, which is breach of the Eurovision rules, which state that the competing entries for Eurovision 2023 shouldn’t be released prior to the 1st of September 2022.

Lina was replaced by The PiXLES who will be competing with their entry “Šaukt”. The full list of participants is as follows:

  • Joseph June – Vacuum
  • Justa Rubežiūtė – When I’ll Find
  • Justė Kraujelytė – ESC Need More Fun
  • Justin 3 feat. Dj AugustYno – Not Giving Up
  • Luknė – Paradise
  • Mario Junes – Do What You Do
  • Matt Len – Midnight Train
  • Melona – Song Of Whispers
  • Monika Linkytė – Stay
  • MoonBee – Rumor

Pabandom Iš Naujo 2023 will consist of five shows, which will be broadcast as follows:

  • Heat 1 – 21st of January
  • Heat 2 – 28th of January
  • Semi-Final 1 –  4th of February
  • Semi-Final 2 – 11th of February
  • Final – 18th of February

Monika Liu won last year’s edition of Pabandom Iš Naujo, and she went on to represent Lithuania in Eurovision 2022 with “Sentimentai”. She finished in 14th place in the Grand final, scoring 128 points. You can check her performance below:
