Romania has received 84 entries for Selecţia Naţională 2023

TVR announced today they received 84 songs for Selecţia Naţională 2023, the Romanian selection for Eurovision. Only 12 out of these 84 songs will compete in the national final, which will take place on 11 February 2023. We will know all the finalists on 17 December. TVR received entries from Romania but also from abroad.

The jury that will select its finalists are:
-Sebastian Ferenţ – Music Director of the Untold and Neversea Festivals
-Laura Coroianu – Co-founder of Emagic, one of the first and biggest organizers of concerts and musical events in Romania
-Bogdan Stratula – one of the most experienced radio and television program directors (Music Director/Program Director at ProFm, Radio ZU, Virgin Radio, MediaPro Music, Antena 1, Antena Group)
-John Varbiu – Founder and Booking & Artist Hospitality Manager of the Summer Well Festival
-Alin Vaida – Founder and Musical Director of the Jazz in the Park Festival.
-Mihai Predescu – Head of the Romanian delegation for Eurovision 2023
-The director of the project, who will be chosen following the internal and external competition of directorial projects.

The Romanian representative will be chosen only by the public, no jury in the grand final, there will be a combination of an online voting and the traditional televoting.

Last year Romania was represented by WRS with the song “Llámame” and finished 18th in the Grand Final with 65 points.
